What is transpersonal therapy?

I draw on many approaches of psychotherapy (such as humanistic, existential and psychodynamic) in the work, but my core training and the main guiding thread of my work is the transpersonal.
Transpersonal psychotherapy takes the perspective that our problems are calling us forward to develop and grow not just deeply in to our lives and loves and relationships, but also in our spiritual life. That the alchemy of transformation is possible for us. The practical implication of this for therapy is that your psychotherapy will be grounded in a very holistic context. Much of what we explore is unlikely to seem to be very ‘spiritual’ (although it might be), but the underlying theme is for you allow your deepest and highest capacities to unfold, so that you can meet the problems of your life with more capability, equanimity, and grace.
